Care and Grooming

1...) Keep your Bombay cat indoors..

Bombay cats are no different from other cats in that they often live longer, healthier lives when kept inside. However, this breed in particular is so inquisitive that, if left to wander outside on their own, they may be more prone to encounter problems than some other cats.

It's also important to remember that you probably paid a high price for your priceless Bombay because of the breed's rarity. Letting your priceless pet run around outside gives them lots of chances to get misplaced or stolen.

Try teaching your Bombay to walk outside on a leash! After that, you may let them go exploring without having to worry about them getting into trouble.

2...) Give your house panther plenty of places to scratch.

Cats are prone to scratching, and Bombay cats are no exception. To prevent your parlor panther from using your sofa as a scratching post, make sure it has a few scratching posts.

Your Bombay still has to get their nails clipped every other week, just like any other cat.

4...) Brush your cat once a week or so.

Grooming the Bombay's short, silky, satiny coat is a breeze. To enhance the patent-leather gloss of this cat's coat, just give it a weekly brushing or dab with a gentle chamois cloth.

The Bombay is a very tidy cat with minimal shedding. Regular washings maintain the coat's shiny, silky appearance. Check your Bombay's ears every week or two to make sure they are not very filthy or red, and trim their nails around every two weeks. To prevent upsetting your cat's naturally balanced bacterial ecosystem, only wipe their ears when absolutely required.

5...) Pet and love on your Bombay frequently.

Although cats are often thought of as being aloof, Bombays are anything from that stereotype. Craving love, these loving cats will crawl and climb all over you to win your attention.

6...) Feed Bombays wet food with mostly animal protein twice a day.

To keep their bodies in peak condition and provide them with the energy they require, these robust, muscular cats require a high protein diet. Always have dry food on hand in addition to wet food.

Bombays have a voracious appetite and a tendency to overeat. They'll eat more slowly with the aid of puzzle feeders.

To prevent obesity, make sure your Bombay gets plenty of activity.
